ASA Member Benefit Spotlight:
Revolutionizing Patient Care
Leaders within ASA developed the Perioperative Surgical Home (PSH), a patient-centric, team-based model of care, to help you meet the demands of a rapidly approaching health care paradigm which emphasizes value, patient satisfaction and reduced costs. The PSH Portfolio, developed for ASA members as well as the entire care team, supports team-based care and meets your facility’s needs no matter where you are in the PSH implementation process. The PSH Portfolio includes:
PSH sessions are offered at numerous ASA meetings throughout the year to ensure you receive implementation strategies, tools and resources. ASA meetings include the ANESTHESIOLOGY® annual meeting, PRACTICE MANAGEMENT™ and Anesthesia Quality Meeting™.
NEW! INSIGHTS + INNOVATIONS, the next iteration of ASA’s PSH conference, is dedicated solely to discussing this new model of care and what it means for the entire care team. The conference will share implementation case studies, first-hand knowledge from experts in the PSH field and an explanation about how these elements fit within the larger health care reform conversation.
To facilitate the adoption of the PSH model, the PSH Learning Collaborative focuses on learning, building capabilities, implementation and performance optimization. The PSH Learning Collaborative 2.0 is currently underway; registration for the 3.0 program opens in January 2018.
The PSH Learning Collaborative 2.0 resulted in:
- 149 pilots planned or underway
- 30,000 cases submitted to AQI by the first data submission deadline - 18x the number of cases submitted in PSH Learning Collaborative 1.0!
The PSH Consult service launched in 2016 and offers facilities customized information, evidence-based strategies and practical tools to navigate the transition to value-based perioperative care delivery and payment models successfully.
The PSH Portfolio is compliant with today’s requirements, regulations and aligns with the goals of various value-based models including MACRA, BPCI, CJR and more.
ASA has engaged a growing number of team-based care team members to help communicate the importance of this initiative.
