ASA Responds to CMS on ACOs

On Friday, December 3, ASA responded to the Request for Information from CMS regarding accountable care organizations (ACOs) and the Medicare Shared Savings Program.  CMS is still in the process of initial rulemaking and is expected to release proposed regulations by the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011.  To view ASA’s response, please click here.

In addition to the letter ASA sent, ASA joined with 16 other physician organizations in the Surgical Coalition in a response letter to the Request for Information from CMS regarding ACOs. Click here to read the letter.
