LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to: Provide patients with multimodal analgesia. Reduce acute pain. Reduce chronic postop pain. Treat anemia and/or hypovolemia. Diagnose and treat coagulopathies. Manage pediatric patients so as to maintain optimal airway patency and respiration. Avoid hypercarbia, hypexia, and pulmonary hypertension, especially in those with sleep apnea and/or heart disease. CREDIT The Duke University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 26 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
