This course is designed to benefit practicing clinicians who want a comprehensive review of the basic echocardigoraphic anatomy of the heart, and intermediate level practitioners who want to have an update on the latest echocardiographic techniques. At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to: evaluate the basics of comprehensivie intraoperative echo examination, valvular assessment and repair/replacement, and advanced diastolic funtion and Doppler techniques; perform a comprehensive perioperative TEE examination; operate and troubleshoot TEE equipment; utilize TEE as a monitoring modality during high-risk non-cardiac surgery; apply the latest techniques of diastolic function assessment, strain rate imaging and three dimensional echocardiography to assess complex structural relationships.
