Mission Description
On this particular mission trip, the emphasis is on arthroscopic orthopedic surgeries of the knee, particularly ACL reconstructions. There will be several other miscellaneous orthopedic cases. Volunteers will travel to Quito, on Sat. July 20, spend the night at a hotel and the next day on Sunday 21, travel by commercial airline (45 minutes) from Quito to Manta where they will be met by a member of the Ecuadorian staff. There will be surgical cases scheduled all day from Monday through Friday. The volunteers will depart from Manta on Saturday July 27 and fly home that evening from Quito.

Mission Description
The Rwanda Teaching Program began in January 2006 as a partnership between the National University of Rwanda, CASIEF, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists Overseas Teaching Program (ASAOTP). The goal is to build capacity for anesthesia training in Rwanda so that, over time, there will be enough local staff anesthesiologists to run the program with minimal international support. Solidarity Bridge is seeking an anesthesiologist to participate in its Multi-Specialty Mission Trip to Coroico, Bolivia. Solidarity Bridge collaborates with Bolivian hospitals and physicians to provide complex surgeries for impoverished patients and to train and equip local partners to sustain the work. In the months before a mission trip, we gather surgical and medical supplies to be used during the mission and to be left for our Bolivian medical counterparts after our departure. Our office in Bolivia notifies the community about each of our planned missions and screens patients in advance of our arrival. The experience of solidarity is central to our mission. Together we work with our Bolivian partners learning from each other. Many of our medical team members spend their evenings giving educational seminars for the Bolivian community. On the weekend we may journey to outlying rural areas to explore the beautiful countryside and better understand Bolivian culture and people.
