Idaho State University Rural Pass-Through survey
The Public Health Program and Institute of Rural Health at Idaho State University will be surveying ASA members in January 2013 to investigate what proportion of active and resident ASA membership holders would seriously consider converting their practices to Rural Pass-Through-eligible locations if CMS rules are changed to allow anesthesiologists to participate in the Rural Pass-Through. We would appreciate your participation.

ASA member addresses regulation of anesthesia in USA Today
On December 10, USA Today reported on the lack of cosmetic surgery laws, particularly related to anesthesia. ASA member Hector Vila, M.D. explained how several states require accreditation for offices intending to use deep sedation or general anesthesia. However, according to Dr. Vila, these laws need to be more strictly enforced.
