PSH Scholarship Program

The scholarship funds will cover full or partial costs to participate in the PSH Learning Collaborative 2020. Scholarship recipient(s) will be responsible for travel costs associated with national meetings.

Yes. The scholarship is available for the Core Collaborative, Advanced Cohort and Advanced Cohort with Bundles Payment Add-on participation options.

Yes. Scholarship recipient(s) will be part of the same program and will receive the same benefits. Please reference the Participation Options chart.

Institutions that are highly encouraged to apply are those that are new PSH Learning Collaborative participants and meet one of the following:

• Critical access hospital (CAH) as defined by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services  as meeting the following criteria
• have fewer than 25 inpatient beds and
• located more than 35 miles from any hospital or other CAH or located more than 15 driving miles from any hospital or other CAH in an area with mountainous terrain or only secondary roads
• Hospitals in the 340B program
• Military hospital as defined by the Defense Health Agency and Military Health System  as
• Military hospital: hospital or treatment facilities part of the Military Health System
• Also referred to as direct care and military treatment facilities (MTFs)
• Small or rural hospital as defined by American Hospital Association  as meeting at least one of the following criteria:
• has 100 or fewer beds and/or
• has 4,000 or fewer admissions and/or
• is located outside a metropolitan area
• Veterans’ Affairs hospital

Scholars are selected by the PSH Scholarship Review Board. The Review Board consists of past PSH Learning Collaborative participants as voting members and ASA industry supporters that serve in an advisory capacity. The PSH Scholarship Review Board considers all applications and selects scholars based on an institution’s Perioperative Surgical Home (PSH) plans, organizational capabilities, prior experience with quality improvement initiatives and need.

Applications must be submitted by March 21, 2018. No exceptions.

The recipient(s) will be announced on April 9, 2018. Applicants will be notified by email and informed of next steps.
