The FAER Resident Scholar Program (RSP) provides selected anesthesiology residents with the opportunity to attend the ASA ANESTHESIOLOGY® annual meeting each year.
By attending the ASA annual meeting, FAER resident scholars are able to:
The FAER Resident Scholar Program is often a resident’s first exposure to a national scientific meeting with multiple scientific and educational sessions. Resident scholars participate in activities during FAER/eSAS: A Day for New Researchers. They also have the opportunity to attend the American Society of Anesthesiologists Resident Component’s activities.
The goal of the FAER Resident Scholar Program (RSP) is to support research among residents by providing an opportunity to present their work among peers and established scientists in the specialty of anesthesiology.
Participation in this program is an exclusive benefit offered to academic anesthesiology department members of FAER’s Society for Anesthesia Education and Research (SAER). Each year, current SAER members are invited to select an academically promising resident to participate in this valuable program. FAER provides educational grants of $1,000 each to these anesthesiology departments to help offset the costs of this opportunity.
There is no application process for the FAER Resident Scholar Program. FAER will notify current SAER member anesthesiology departments by late spring of each year.
