ASA Submits Brief to AANA Lawsuit - Responds to Erroneous Assertions

The society has submitted an amicus curiae (friend of the court) brief supporting efforts by the HHS to dismiss a nondiscrimination complaint by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, clarifying numerous erroneous assertions about the role of CRNAs and anesthesiologists in AANA’s complaint. The brief specifically addresses AANA’s blanket assertions regarding the scope of licenses, contending there are no differences between anesthesiologists and CRNAs.
