We offer 2 separate and distinct reentry programs; a simulation-based retraining program of 1, 2, 4 and 6 weeks duration and a simulation-based competency assessment program. The Simulation-Based Retraining Program is a one-on-one retraining program. The simulations occur daily on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for approximately 1.5 -3 hours/day. The remaining portion of the day is spent in OR observation. Participants may proctor any educational activity conducted in the department including daily conferences, case based discussions and bi-weekly journal club during the retraining. The topics covered in the simulated environment include anesthetic induction , emergence, perioperative hypoxia, hypotension, ACLS and PALS protocols, Difficult Airway Management including the use of video-assisted devices and flexible bronchscopic intubations. The New York State Department of Health Office for Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) accepted our 6 week simulation-based retraining program as a prerequisite for the re-licensure of physician who was non-clinical for a protracted time (>10 years). Our Simulation-Based Assessment Program has been used by state licensing bodies such as NY state licensing body, NJ state medical board, Vermont Medical Board, academic and private institutions. The assessment occurs over 2 days and includes 6-8 simulated scenarios and 2 standardized examinations. In addition to top-of-the-line adult, child and infant mannequin-based simulators we also have a virtual fiber optic simulator and a virtual TEE simulator for your education. We also offer a 10% discount for our retraining program if you also participate in our assessment program. For more details, please visit the program website: www.sinaianesthesia.com/simulator |
