Membership 101

Your first year out of residency may be a busy time as you prepare for board exams, tackle relocating and all of the other things you have to focus on during your transition period. We hope you take advantage of the discounts and services your continued ASA membership offers to help you save time and money as you transition into practice or a fellowship program. If you have any questions during this busy time, you can contact the ASA Committee on Young Physicians (CYP), they can provide insights and some guidance during this busy time in your career.

Here are a few important details about your ASA membership post-residency:

Your resident membership will run through the end of this year, which means you will receive the resident discount price on all products and services including the annual meeting, educational and practice resources.
You will automatically upgrade to Active membership status - ASA’s largest membership group comprised of more 32,000 practicing physician anesthesiologists.
Membership runs from January through December and your first invoice will be mailed in November of the year you graduate. Be sure to update your member profile with your correct address so you will receive this and other important membership communications.
You will receive a discount on your first year of Active Membership dues and pay only $100.
