The “jobs” within the AAE umbrella may take many forms and the background, experience, and educational preparation are varied. ASA welcomes non-clinical professionals who are employed or contracted by an anesthesia group, service, or department—including functional positions such as:
- Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director
- Administrator/Manager/Operations
- Chief Financial Officer
- Accountant/Certified Public Accountant
- Anesthesia Billing/Coding Professional
- Attorney (an individual supporting an anesthesia group or professional association for contracting, employment law, insurance, and legislative matters)
Additional requirements for AAE membership:
- Inclusive of anyone who functionally leads and/or supports anesthesiologists, anesthesiology groups, or anesthesiology department as a W2, 1099, or contracted consultant for business matters.
Eligible AAEs on your team receive FREE ASA membership when 90% or more of your group’s physician anesthesiologists are Active members in good standing on a single centralized invoice. If less than 90% of group's anesthesiologists are ASA Active members in good standing or the group does not participate in centralized invoicing, membership is only $258.
