Dr. David Martin, Chair of ASA’s Section on Education and Research, talks to Dr. Striker about anesthesiology and lifelong learning. Listen in as they shed light on certification requirements, discuss educational resources, and even bust a few myths about MOCA and more.
David Martin, MD, PhD, is currently Chair of the ASA Section on Education and Research and serves as a Director to the ASA Board of Directors from the state of Minnesota. He is Vice Chair for Safety and Quality for the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Indiana University and his medical degree and a PhD in neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed his anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic.
Adam Striker, MD, FASA, is currently Chair of the ASA Committee on Communications, and is the series editor for ASA’s Central Line podcast series. He is an Associate Professor and serves as staff anesthesiologist in the Division of Cardiac Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and in the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia at Kentucky Children’s Hospital as part of the Joint Congenital Heart Care Program. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Northwestern University.
