David Hovord, BA, MB, BChir, FRCA, is an assistant professor of anesthesiology at Michigan Medicine: University of Michigan. Dr. Hovord is passionate about the use of technology to improve patient safety. Aside from his clinical focus on liver transplantation, he is responsible for the equipment and supplies for the department of anesthesiology and leads the departmental Green Anesthesia Initiative (GAIA) which seeks to reduce CO2 equivalent emissions by 80% over three years.
Dr. Hovord received his undergraduate degrees from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in the UK. After completing the majority of his undergraduate anesthesiology training in the UK, he moved to Michigan where he lives with his wife and five children.
Jeffrey M. Feldman, MD, MSE, is an attending anesthesiologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and a professor of clinical anesthesiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Feldman has a special interest in the use of technology in patient care and is a past president of the Society for Technology in Anesthesia and former editor of the Section on Computing and Technology for Anesthesia and Analgesia. His personal interests involve anesthesia delivery systems including low flow and closed circuit anesthesia, mechanical ventilation of the anesthetized patient, and patient monitoring. He currently serves as the chair of the APSF Committee on Technology and is a member of the APSF Board of Directors.
Adam Striker, MD, FASA, is the past chair of the ASA’s Committee on Communications and is the series editor for ASA’s Central Line podcast series. He is Professor of Anesthesiology at Medical College of Wisconsin, a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist at Children’s Wisconsin and serves as Director of Clinical Operations for pediatric anesthesiology at Children's Wisconsin. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Northwestern University.
