Steven Butz, MD, is a pediatric anesthesiologist in Milwaukee and a professor of anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is the clinical associate chief medical officer over the Children’s Wisconsin Surgicenter. His is the immediate past-president of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia and has lectured widely on diabetes, pediatric ambulatory anesthesia, quality improvement, and ASC management topics.
Dr. Butz received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and medical degree from Northwestern University. He was an Emory resident and did his pediatric fellowship at Northwestern. He has spent his entire career at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also is a surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and sits on their board of directors.
Thomas Durick, MD, is currently an assistant professor of anesthesiology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Wexner Medical Center. He is the anesthesia clinical operations director for Ohio State’s first Ambulatory Surgery Center, Outpatient Care New Albany, and is the associate director of the ambulatory anesthesia division of the department of anesthesiology. He is also currently the chairman of SAMBAs performance measures committee which is in the process of adding in more value measurement and analysis for anesthesiologists.
Dr. Durick is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, did his anesthesia residency and pain management fellowship at West Virginia University and did a neuroanesthesia fellowship at The Barrow Neurologic Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He spent 30 years in private practice anesthesia before returning to Ohio State, with the last 21 years in the Santa Cruz, San Jose and San Francisco areas working in and managing ambulatory surgery centers.
Adam Striker, MD, FASA, is the past chair of the ASA’s Committee on Communications and is the series editor for ASA’s Central Line podcast series. He is Professor of Anesthesiology at Medical College of Wisconsin, a pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist at Children’s Wisconsin and serves as Director of Clinical Operations for pediatric anesthesiology at Children's Wisconsin. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Northwestern University.
