Joseph L. Staggenborg, MD, MBA, FASA, is a system medical director of anesthesiology for TeamHealth in southeast Florida. Dr. Staggenborg is interested in OR management and has written, lectured, and consulted on block management, OR governance, and value based care with an emphasis on quality and performance metrics.
Dr. Staggenborg received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Saint Louis University and completed his anesthesiology training at The University of Pittsburgh. He later studied medical management services and received his MBA from The Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business. Dr. Staggenborg has either consulted, managed, or provided clinical services for over fifty hospitals and ASCs during his thirty year career and continues to be clinically active.
Keya Locke, MD, MBA, serves as the medical director of perioperative services at UF-North in Jacksonville Florida. Dr. Locke has been an assistant professor at UF Jacksonville since 2017. She completed medical school at UF Gainesville, residency at UF Jacksonville, and graduated from UF Warrington School of Business with an MBA in 2020. Her current interests include practice management and organizational behavior. She hopes to bring a better understanding of how organizations “breathe” and begin to apply strategies of successful organizations to medical ones. Dr. Locke is a member of the ASA practice management and women in anesthesia committees.
