Dr. Adam Striker discusses pediatric pain scales with Dr. Sara Robertson, a member of the ACE editorial board who contributed to the 19B issue. Dr. Sara B. Robertson is an associate professor and pediatric anesthesiologist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She received her B.S. in biology summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2006. She earned her MD degree at UMMC in 2010. She did her anesthesiology residency at the University of Arkansas for medical sciences (2010-2014) and pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (2014-2015).
She is heavily involved in medical student, resident, and fellow education and serves as the assistant program director for the pediatric anesthesia fellowship as well as the chair of the residency clinical competency committee. She is a member of several professional organization, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia. She has given numerous presentations and case reports at national meetings. Her research interests include pediatric difficult airway management.
Dr. Robertson resides in Madison, Mississippi, with her husband, Dr. Hess Robertson, and daughter, Lucy.
Adam Striker, MD, FASA, is currently Chair of the ASA Committee on Communications and serves as a delegate to the ASA House of Delegates from the state of Missouri. He is the series editor for ASA’s Central Line podcast series. He is a member of Anesthesia Associates of Kansas City and practices at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where he currently serves as Anesthesiologist-in-Chief. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Northwestern University.
