Dr. Allaire is a practicing partner with the McFarland Clinic in Ames, Iowa, a 220-physician multispecialty group, where he works in a 14-person anesthesia department. He chairs the physician compensation committee and is a member of the finance committee, and in the past served both on the medical executive committee and as department chairperson.
A past president of the Iowa Society of Anesthesiologists, Dr. Allaire currently serves as the ASA director for Iowa. He is the current chair of the committee on finance for the ASA Board of Directors and co-chairs the practice operations subcommittee for the ASA Committee on Practice Management. Dr. Allaire is a graduate of Mayo Medical School and the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.
Genie G. Blough, MBA, FACMPE, is the Principal of G Blough Associates, LLC, in Mobile, Alabama. For more than 30 years, she has worked with anesthesiologists and administrators to effectively lead their groups to outstanding performance in their operations, to develop strategies for growth and change, and to facilitate governance issues. Ms. Blough helps hospitals across the country promote efficient anesthesia staffing models in collaboration with their anesthesia providers. She currently serves on the ASA Committee on Practice Management and is co-chair of the Practice Operations Sub-Committee.
Ms. Blough started with a then-midsized anesthesia practice in 1986 that grew to a group of more than 100 anesthesiologists and CRNAs serving five hospitals and four ASCs for 15 years. For six years, Ms. Blough served on the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Board of Directors, two of which as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. She founded G Blough Associates, LLC, in 2003.
Adam Striker, MD, FASA, is currently Chair of the ASA Committee on Communications, and is the series editor for ASA’s Central Line podcast series. He is an Associate Professor and serves as staff anesthesiologist in the Division of Cardiac Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and in the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia at Kentucky Children’s Hospital as part of the Joint Congenital Heart Care Program. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from Purdue University and his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed his pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Northwestern University.
