Master the secrets of well-prepared speakers with ASA’s interactive Leadership Spokesperson Training Program (LSTP). Get better prepared and know how to motivate listeners. Build confidence, communicate effectively, and positively represent your organization and the specialty, whether you speak one-on-one, meet with lawmakers, complete an interview with a reporter or address a crowd.

Practical tips and mock interviews will show how to weave a compelling story and deliver key messages in a variety of settings. Video-recorded exercises simulate lawmaker meetings and media interviews and provide feedback for improving your skills. Attendees will even receive a file of their recording for further review.

Throughout the program, you will learn to:

Prepare for interviews with lawmakers, reporters, and C-suite execs
Anticipate questions from reporters, producers or policymakers
Provide positive responses to negative questions
Understand key messages related to the ASA Made for This Moment public and professional awareness campaign
Speak confidently to lawmakers, the media, and patients regarding key issues such as the No Surprises Act, Medicare payment, and patient-centered, physician-led care, among others.

What You Will Experience

In person - at location of your choosing
2-hour training with short presentation, but most time spent on video-recorded exercises simulating lawmaker meetings or interviews
Training for groups of up to 20 attendees
Provided by experienced ASA PR professionals and ASA’s partner agency, Public Communications, Inc.
