ASA member discusses new Utah law in The Guardian

ASA Committee on Obstetric Anesthesia Chair Edward Yaghmour, M.D., was quoted in The Guardian on the new Utah law requiring anesthesia for pregnant women seeking abortions after 20 weeks. “Any administration of any anesthesia… requires a patient-doctor relationship and a shared decision based on a discussion of the risks, benefits and medical indications in a given situation,” said Dr. Yaghmour.
