On August 8, 2013 at 1:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will host a National Provider Call on the Sunshine Act (Open Payments) titled, "OPEN PAYMENTS - Policy Updates on Payments and the Physician Resource Toolkit."
Beginning on August 1, 2013 certain manufacturers of drugs, devices, biologicals, or medical supplies covered by Medicare, Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) will begin collecting data on financial relationship with physicians including gifts or other transfers of value to a physician over $10 in value, or $100 in total gifts per calendar year given to a physician.
