ASA Components Support Texas Medical Association Surprise Medical Bill Lawsuit
Thirteen ASA state components formally provided their support for the Texas Medical Association’s (TMA) lawsuit challenging the federal government’s flawed No Surprises Act (NSA) regulations. The organizations are signatories of declarations that back the lawsuit and that affirm the negative impact of the regulations on their state’s anesthesiologists’ practices.
The Physician Advocacy Institute (PAI) and 13 state medical associations coauthored
the amicus brief support the TMA lawsuit.
Supporting declarations were submitted by 18 state specialty medical societies, including the 13 anesthesiology societies. In total, over 30 physician organizations expressed support for the TMA’s lawsuit.
